Posted - Apr 06 2011 : 04:38:08 AM VS2010 SP1 crashed with VAX1845. I saved the full heap dump (1.2GB), and opened it:
A first chance exception of type 'System.AccessViolationException' occurred in VAX.Interop.dll
Additional information: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

Posted - Apr 06 2011 : 1:31:01 PM If you compress the full dump, how large is it? 1.2gig is quite a large file to try and upload.
Is this a one off problem, or have you seen it more than once? I am not aware of any other reports of crashes like this. Do you have any other extensions installed?
A mini dump is normally sufficient for debugging a crash, and is a lot smaller to upload. This FAQ explains saving out a mini dump and sending the file to us:
