WinXP sp3 va :1856
The VA Export setting in options Dialog.
I find a .reg file under ..\\Application Data\\VisualAssist .named 20111111111532.reg.
(1)I wonder if reg file contain all the nessary user-customized info.i.e the setting state in options Dialog, edited VA snippets inc.

If I want to transplant the VA's setting and snippets, all the VA's status from My working Pc to my Family Pc,What steps I must take?
How can I transplant all the status of VA from one Pc to another completely?
(2)

The folders each contain what's info? Any one is useful for the User to utilize?

We are currently working on a new build of VA, but want to fix a regression we recently became aware of before releasing it.

There are several methods to find out when a new build appears. There is an RSS feed for the downloads page:

http://www.wholetomato.com/downloads/rss.asp

You can subscribe to get email notifications of new threads in the announcements forum section:

http://www.wholetomato.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=18

and you can turn on:

VA Options -> Startup -> Automatically check for new version
VA Options -> Startup -> Also check for new beta version

Point 1, the .reg file just needs to be imported. It should not matter which directory you put the file in, so long as it is imported successfully. Make sure you do this with the IDE closed, so that VA does not over write these imported settings when you close the IDE.

Point 2, for the VC6 settings, run regedit, navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\DevStudio\\6.0\
and use File menu -> Export...

and save out the selected branch to a file. Then just run the exported .reg file on the new machine, again do this with the IDE closed. Hopefully this will move all of your keyboard settings across.

The .reg file contains all of your VA settings from the VA options dialog. To transfer the VA Snippets, you need to copy the files from the:

%APPDATA%\\VisualAssist\\Autotext\
directory to the new machine.

The "Dict" directory holds any extra dictionaries you have installed, along with the "UserWords.txt" file for any custom words you have added to the spell checker.

Together this should give you everything, but it will not transfer your IDE settings.
