Posted - Jul 03 2013 : 1:33:25 PM Immediately after installing build 1946 I started getting an exception dialog when starting VS 2012. The text in the dialog is
An exception has been encountered. This may be caused by an extension. You can get more information by examining the file 'C:\\Users\\Owner\\AppData\\Roaming\\Microsoft\\VisualStudio\\11.0\\ActivityLog.xml'.
I looked at the file and it didn't tell me anything. There don't seem to be any problems after I dismiss the dialog. I tried disabling VA but it enables itself whenever you start VS. Am I the only one seeing this?

Posted - Jul 04 2013 : 11:31:24 AM A few people have seen this after installing a new build of VA for VS2010 and above. So far we have not been able to work out what is triggering this problem.
Can you please go into:
IDE tools menu -> Extensions and Updates...
and disable Visual Assist X. This will require a restart of the IDE. Now go back into the Extensions and Updates dialog and Enable Visual Assist X, and restart again. Does this fix the problem? |
