Posted - Apr 05 2020 : 7:50:07 PM I tried to register my personal license (I've been a customer for well over a decade) on a new desktop machine. I only use this license on one machine at a time. I've had no problems until today.
I'm being told that: The registration limit for this serial number has been reached. For further assistance, please visit: Embarcadero Support
So I go visit Embarcadero Support by clicking on the link.
First, the link is broken, and takes me to a 404 page.
So I fix the link (which was http://www.embarcadero.com/support/index.php, so I enter http://www.embarcadero.com/support/ which fixes it), and get to the support page.
Which gives me a list of things I can choose to get support on:

 - 3rd Rail

 - All-Access

 - AppWave

 -  C++Builder

 - Change Manager

 - DBArtisan

 - DB Optimizer

 - Delphi

 - Delphi for PHP

 - Prism

 - DT Studio

 - CONNECT

 - ELC

 - ER/Studio Business Architect

 - ER/Studio Data Architect

 - ER/Studio Repo

 - ER/Studio Software Architect

 - ER/Studio Portal

 - ER/Studio Team Server

 - ER/Studio Viewer

 - HTML5 Builder

 - InterBase

 - JBuilder

 - J Optimizer

 - Performance Center

 - Performance IQ

 - RadPHP

 - Rapid SQL

 - RAD Studio

  ... so that's that broken, I guess.
So... how do I fix this? All I want is that when I'm using my shiny new desktop and NOT one of my laptops, I can use VAX, the same way I did for the last decade or so. I'm not trying to do anything funny. |

Posted - Apr 07 2020 : 05:54:32 AM Thank you very much guys. You are doing a great job here at forums.
Btw. I already contacted [email protected] but they are asking questions like what product and what version of product I am using instead of solving problems. They are definitely not improving my experience like you did.
Below is an excerpt from the email I sent to the above mentioned email address which describes how useless whole licensing web actually is. Have a nice day.

quote: On page https://license.embarcadero.com/srs6/activation.do I can read that there is some problem. But
  1) Link "Recover recent product activations for your license configuration." points to page https://license.embarcadero.com/srs6/archived.do?key=3830783 which states that: "Your most recent registration records are not available for display. Only registrations after 07-Jul-2007 are available." What?
  2) Text "The registration limit for this serial number has been reached. For further assistance, please visit: Embarcadero Support" goes to http://www.embarcadero.com/support/index.php page where one can find ... well, actually 404 times nothing: "Oops! We can't seem to find the page you are looking for. Error code: 404"
  3) Only working link is "View extended serial number details." but on https://license.embarcadero.com/srs6/archived.do?key=3830783 page there is no additional information nor working link except for "3 / 3 -- Warning: Max Registration count has already been reached."

Posted - Apr 06 2020 : 3:29:30 PM I too apologize for the poor experience.
Are you seeing the bad links in messages from Visual Assist or on a website? If from Visual Assist, what version of VA do you have installed? If from a website, what is the URL that you originally went to?

Posted - Apr 06 2020 : 04:52:55 AM I second this post because I had exactly same expericence today. It is insane that after over decade of paying and sucessfully using this product we must solve this licensing s**t. Whole industy is moving forward but you are backing up into past century. I simply can not understand why are you fighting your paying customers? |
