Posted - Mar 06 2023 : 12:17:05 AM I want to install VA_X 2420_0 for VS2017,2019,2022 on Windows 11. However it does not work. An error message shows this extension is already installed all product.
How can I fix it? |

Posted - Mar 09 2023 : 10:32:19 AM Thank you for the details. I have finally managed to reproduce this here. As far as I can tell it requires a "problem" with your IDE settings, plus having Windows localised, so a non English display language.
You will probably never know, outside of this install problem, about the "problem" with the IDE settings. The good news, such as there is good news, is that VA always installs and works correctly, in all of these cases that I have seen so far. |

Posted - Mar 08 2023 : 1:33:41 PM Yes OS is localized, I am already in touch with you through email and ticket id 20414 (Case 149245). It seems according to logs that your installer fails to find out it went flawlessly, then VSIX installer is started as a result of false error and it of course reports it is already installed. |

Posted - Mar 08 2023 : 12:32:36 PM Thank you for the update. Are you using a localised OS or version of Visual Studio? It is starting to look like having one or both of these localised is a factor. |

Posted - Mar 08 2023 : 12:09:06 PM I get this error too with 2476, but it is still installed in the end. Check VS if it's there. |

Posted - Mar 06 2023 : 06:20:06 AM You should only get this error if Visual Assist is already installed.
Can you please open these versions of Visual Studio, and for VS2017 look in the dialog:
IDE tools menu -> Extensions and Updates...
For VS2019 and VS2022 please look in the dialog:
IDE Extensions menu -> Manage Extensions
which version or versions of Visual Studio show Visual Assist as an installed extension? If it is all of them, which version of VA is shown as being installed? |
