Yet today when I opened Visual Studio, it said that my license expired and was showing me the trial or purchase dialog.
when I clicked revert it opens the download page for version 2333 but that is a version much older than what I had installed.
so I turned off auto-update of extensions and reinstalled the last install I had which was 2511. and that is working.
So presumably it had auto updated to 2520 and there is a bug with the license conditioning in that version?
