Posted - Sep 11 2025 : 2:59:59 PM Closing windows in Visual Studio may be extremely slow. Steps to reproduce: 1. Enable Visual Assist 2. Open a dozen of c++ files 3. Call Window\Windows..., select all and click Close Window(s) 4. Observe that closing takes up to a minute 5. Disable Visual Assist 6. Repeat steps 2-4. Closing is now instantaneous. As a work around, can you try using:
IDE Windows menu -> Close All Tabs
instead? This is instant for me, so should show the same speed for you to.
