I have tried everything: I have turned "Get content from default intellisense" on and off, I have added all the headers as an extra project so intellisense can see it, I have included each and every directory that has stl headers in it in the "Stable header includes" directory. None of these things, or any basic combination of the above, work.

Please fix this bug in the next version of stlport...

Thanks,
Sean

So far it seems that all the problems that I attributed to conflicts with STLPort were due to other issues.

Sorry, my mistake.
It is a different bug. I'll open another topic

Can you post a small code sample that shows the problem please?

What I notice with StlPort is that VA does not correctly track its iterators.

Can you please have a look at this test solution - its a 1.4meg zip file:

http://forum.wholetomato.com/colin/forumimages/4255_stlport_test.zip

open the "using_stl" solution, and then the "using_stl.cpp" file. I do not know what the actual problem with STLPort is, but this project shows that VA knows where the STLPort string.h file is, and that it is opened via alt-g.

I have simply added a new project to the solution which contains some STLPort header files, and I have told the IDE not to build this "dummy" project.

IDE: VS2005

Which IDE are you using?
I am not familiar with the STLPort problem, but if the problem is related to VA finding header files then it is possible that manually adding the STLPort header files to the solution will help.

In VS2005 you can add a new project to the solution, and then exclude it from the build. Since it is part of the solution VA should find and parse all of the files. However I don't know if this will help or not.

We have no workaround for you at this time. We'll look more into the problem.

VA X still seems to be confused by STLPort.
How is the investigation going?
