I am installing VAX 1440,
but I get an error message as below:

COM server registration failed due to insufficient access rights.
A user with supervisor rights will have register Visual Assist X using either regsvr32 or by opening the Add-ins tab of the Visual Studio customize dialog that is found in the tools menu.

But my account is surely administrator. And my operation system is Windows XP.

What happened? How to solve it?
thanks!

Try using regmon from sysinternals.com to see what is failing when you run regsvr32.

I got the same error message when I tried that in command prompt window :-(
It seems that I do not log in as administrator, but acctually I do.

if you try:

regsvr32 "C:\\Program Files\\Visual Assist X\\VAssist.dll"
regsvr32 "C:\\Program Files\\Visual Assist X\\VA_X.dll"

in a command prompt window what are the results? this does sound like you are not actually logged in as administrator, or as if the machine has been somehow locked down to restrict what you can do.
