i have the us english and the german dic files installed. when i do a spell check in a german text containing umlauts (+?+?++), the spellchecker apparantly doesn' recognize these. for example, the word "ausgew+?hlte" is regarded as two words - "ausgew" and "hlte" are checked seperately. any ideas how to make it check that as a single word?

which IDE and version of VA are you using? i have downloaded the "German (Germany - default)" dictionary from http://lingucomponent.openoffice.org/spell_dic.html and installed it. i have copied the word from your post, and when inserted into a comment with a spelling error i get the following:

for ease, the text i have is:

// hello ausgew+?hlte is this handlled correctly?

was the word copied correctly?
