I've installed VAX on my Vista box, but it doesn't work.

Well it appears to be working it loads and hows up in the menu etc. However it doesn't parse my custom include directoreis and therefore Alt-G doesn't work along with other things. Even if I use and implement a function in the same file, Alt-G just beeps at me.

Also Shift-Alt-S "find symbol" is empty there is nothing in there.

Has anyone seen this?

This is not listed as fixed on the case. I have just tried some basic tests using VS2005 and VA 1549 and Find References is working for me, on a pair of files I have just dragged into the IDE with no solution open.

I am also seeing alt-g work some of the time. It is not fully functional, but there is some behaviour here.

You might want to try installing 1549 as a trial and see if Find References makes up for the parts of alt-g that are missing.

Hey feline I really wanna start using the new vesion, do you know if they implemented this, so I could stop using 1446?
Thanks

Unfortunately no progress to report on case=2943
It is still flagged to be done soon, but so are several other bugs.

Hey feline could you please check with the dev team to see if/when this is going to be restored?

Thanks.

Yup it has nothing to do with running as Admin, it doesn't work for me on XP aunning as the Admin. It's the scope change that was implemented in VAX in recent builds.

I'd like to add a vote for a restoration of the full might of Alt-G.

Current builds seem to have a pale shadow of the old Alt-G - nowadays I often find that F12 is better at going somewhere useful, which is a terrible reflection on how far things have gone.

Unfortunately no, I don't know when this happened. The old behaviour is in 1446, which was the last of the 14xx builds.

You can download older versions from the announcements section of the forum: http://www.wholetomato.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=18

or from the history of changes page: http://www.wholetomato.com/support/history.asp

feline do you know when this change when into effect? I would like to download an old build without this limitation and also is there a link to it?

case=2943 is in the queue, but unfortunately I cannot offer any estimate on when this will be done. There are quite a few outstanding bug reports at the moment.

I understand your frustration. Sometimes balancing the needs of different users can be difficult.

Yes I think it has nothing to do with Vista (I stated that in one other thread), I think it's because you changed the behavior and now require a project. Which unfortunately doesn't work for us. That was the reason why we licensed VAX is because you could edit any file without a project and get intellisense.

Intellisense that VS8 provides with a project is sufficient enough for us and I see no reason to have VAX anymore. If I'm forced to create a project then VAX is pretty useless to me.
