As I post in a previous message, sometimes if I type a char (often '{') in a file and I get other files open, the char go in another file than the active...
It seem that it happen when I type immediatly after opening the project (may be while VA parse files) and if I do not change active editor.
The way to avoid this is to close all the open files and reopen. |

The caret not being visible sounds like the key event here. I have tried this several times, but so far no sign of any problems here.
Have you tried this with a different project? I am wondering if it is somehow project specific. |

Posted - Dec 14 2006 : 11:22:43 AM Looking at your steps are you running two copies of VS2005, or are you closing the IDE and then reloading it? I am looking at step 3 "wait..."
If you are running two IDE's which one are you typing in? |

Posted - Dec 14 2006 : 03:06:30 AM XPSP2 - VC2005 - C++ - no plugin
I can reproduce this less or more one time a day. Each time, it's just after launching VC try that :
- in tools/options/environment/startup I choose 'show empty environment'. - leave vc with 2 or 3 files of the current project opened - wait ... ;) - launch vc - manually load the recent project (file/recent project/xxx) - type a parenthesis somewhere in the active file -> the parenthesis is inserted in a non active view.
-> I've just do that and I can reproduce today. |

Posted - Dec 13 2006 : 08:28:31 AM Nasty. We have had a few reports of this before, but so far I have never been able to reproduce it on demand.
Which IDE and OS are you using? Do you have any other plugin's installed? Which language are you working with?
How easily can you reproduce this effect? |
