Posted - Jan 16 2007 : 1:59:09 PM Due to storing its database files in Program Files, Visual Assist X is not compatible with Vista. All users in Vista, including administrators, normally execute apps as "standard users" (LUA) - and just like in XP, those users cannot write to Program Files (nor HKLM). |

Posted - Jan 16 2007 : 2:14:59 PM I have VA running successfully under Vista. See this FAQ:
http://docs.wholetomato.com?W296
also note that if you install VS2005 SP1 beta for Vista then the IDE its self tells you that you really need to run the VS2005 as Administrator for it to work correctly. This is before even thinking about VA.
Storing VA's files somewhere else is on the list of things to do, we just haven't done it yet.
