I use visual assist X (version 10.3.1535.0) and Document! X (5.1.0.0) together for my c# project development ( vs.net 2003). I found that visual assist caused a problem when I used the G??Content FromG?? option in Document! X. These are the steps to reproduce the problem.

1. Install both copies of the software
2. Open a c# project file, create one method with two overloads. For example private void Add(int a, int b) and private void Add(int a)
3. Go to G?edit documentationG? label on the top right of the IDE. This G?edit documentationG? should appear as a result of the installation of Document! X
4. Click on Add(int) method, there is a page that allows one to write xml documentation in fields such as G?SummaryG?, G?OverloadsG? etc will pop up.
5. Click on the G?Content FromG? icon, then click on G?New itemG?, choose G?Add(int, int)G?
6. Select the filter by clicking on the G?Build filterG? icon, choose all of the tags.
7. Play at the form a little while by clicking on the G?BuildG? or G?Build filterG? button, highlight the text inside the two text boxes etc.
8. The IDE exits

I have contacted the Document! X software vendor, but I believe that it is important that you guys know about this as well. Please give a reply ASAP.

Not sure when you guys can get this bug fixed. We are quite dependant on these two plug-ins so we hope to see a fast solution

Do keep me post on latest updates.

I had contacted the Document!X technical support. They said that it was because va x was subclassing their form, therefore they could do nothing about it.

I have downloaded a trial version of Document! X and have reproduced the crash. Stopping VA from loading seems to stop the crash, so there is clearly an interaction problem here. I will look into this more deeply, and see what I can find.

For now have you tried simply disabling VA via its menu option before doing complex operations with Document! X? Not an ideal solution, but if it stops the crashes this will be helpful.
