I check the forums fairly frequently. People post to the General Release branch or the public Beta branch at random.
Since there is really no distinction between these branches it would be convenient if they could be merged into a single branch.

There is currently no real distinction, but there will be once the next "true" beta release gets built and released. I am not sure when this will happen, but it is bound to happen sooner or later.
For example, all of the early 15xx builds were beta builds, and they were kept separate from the 1446 general release. |
