Am I missing a setting or something
When I Dim a new variable , initially it doesn't appear as an option in the list
Once I've used it its fine and appears as normal |

Which IDE and version of VA are you using?
Are you programming in VB?
When you say "list" are you talking about the lists that appear when you start typing? If so, what sort of icon does the list have? With VA enabled you can see several different types of list, and without knowing which list you are looking at I cannot sensibly comment.
Could you post a screen shot of the list you are seeing, the one that does not list this variable? |
