When user's name contains non-english characters (and consequently the path to local/temp folder is unicode), VA X fails to load with a message:

Visual Assist X does not have required directory write access for symbol database files. Loading of Visual Assist X has halted.

I am seeing the same problem here. For now can you either use VA 1544 or change your windows user name so it no longer causes problems?
