The last few VAX installers I've downloaded (1418, 1549 and now 1555) tell me "Please close all instances of Microsoft Visual Studio" even though VS isn't running. The culprit seems to be Outlook 2003 - when I shut it down, the installer stops complaining. FWIW, I'm also running the Cloudmark Desktop Outlook plugin. |

I have seen this happen with Microsoft Excel 2000. The trigger with Excel seemed to be some form of macro or plugin.
Getting the installer to tell you which process is causing the problem, or avoiding the problem entirely, is on our list of things to do.

I haven't noticed any probs w/ outlook, for me installer complains when I have MSDN open. |
