I could have sworn that at my last job my VAX would back up source files to a subdirectory of VisualAssist and I don't ever remember doing a thing to get that to happen. For my current install, I can't seem to find any option or a place where source files are being backed up as I work. Am I missing something?

If you are using a recent build then the directory structure has changed a bit. VA now puts its cache, and the backup files, in the correct place. On my win2k test machine I have the directory:

C:\\Documents and Settings\\Feline\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\VisualAssist\\vs7\\history\
The directory name will depend on your OS and version of the IDE, but it should still be happening.
