Posted - Sep 27 2007 : 01:47:59 AM Hi,
There seems to be a new problem with the shift right click menu: When I shift right click a symbol and then move the mouse, then sometimes the 'Autotext' dialog is opened. Just before noticing this, I had opened the the Autotext dialog (and pressed cancel), so maybe this bug will open other dialogs on other systems.
This does not happen always, let's say one time out of three.
regards, eli

case=6310
Although we are having problems reproducing this internally, making fixing it rather hard.
Some users have reported that assigning a keyboard shortcut to VAssistX.OpenContextMenu and using this keyboard shortcut instead of the shift + right click fixes the problem. You may want to try this. |

Posted - Oct 01 2007 : 01:51:51 AM It is indeed hard to reproduce: I never saw it in freshly started environments, only in environments that were open for a few ours. Also note that I never release the shift button: the problem always appears before I have a chance to release it. |

Posted - Sep 28 2007 : 2:05:35 PM That is unexpected. How easily can you reproduce this? Is there any particular pattern or requirement for reproducing this? e.g. right clicking at the very top or bottom of the screen? Selecting the identifier before right clicking?
I have just tried this several times in VS2005 with VA 1609 and I am not seeing any problem. I am holding the shift key down, and releasing it noticeably after I release the mouse button, and after the menu has appeared. |

Posted - Sep 28 2007 : 02:07:40 AM No, I have never seen this problem when releasing the shift button immediately after the click. It only happens when the shift stays pressed in.

Posted - Sep 27 2007 : 12:10:24 PM If you hold down the shift key, do the right click, and then release the shift key do you still see this problem?
We have had a few reports of items being automatically selected and triggered on the shift + right click menu, but so far they have been very hard to reproduce. They seem to be related to how quickly you trigger the menu, and the exact order of key and mouse press and release events. |

Posted - Sep 27 2007 : 01:55:01 AM And for your information: I was able to reproduce this in the new 1609 build as well, although I did not manage to have it open the Snippets dialog: the menu just disappeared. Also, it seems to happen a lot less in this build. |
