Version 10.4.1624.0 from 2007.12.07 will frequently hang/freeze Visual Studio. CPU runs hot and I need to terminate the VS process.

The problem seems to occur when auto-complete kicks in. I'm attempting to avoid the crash, but it usually gets me about dozen times a day. In most cases, VAX provides the crash recovery edits lost during the lock-up/freeze/hang.

I'm running VS 2003 SP1.

Please try installing VA 1626, this should fix the problem:

I switched to the release candidate 10.4.1626 about a week ago, and had no more issues since then, if this is any help ...

Any news regarding the new build?
It happens to me every few minutes...

We believe this problem is fixed in the next build of VA, which is due in the next day or two. It is currently working its way through internal testing.

I have the same problem, quite frequent freezes. The listbox for autocomplete pops up, then VS2003 freezes completely.

I also use VS2003, but will migrate to 2005 pretty soon, I will let you know if this changes anything.

My C++ projects all use QT, I just adapted stdafx.h to define signals and slots, but I do not yet know if this will make any difference.

I am addicted to VAX, so any help is appreciated ...
