Maybe already known, but if you run find references, and use Highlight all, the variable writing and reading also will be cyan. Writing should be red (by default).

Strange, but if you turn on coloring in find references toolbar (Apply Coloring to Views), the red highlight will be used there (but not in the IDE editor).
