Posted - Jun 17 2008 : 6:04:47 PM My IDE starts up and then the 'Visual Assist X Options' dialog appears all by itself, and I have to close it.
Thanks, David |

Posted - Jul 17 2008 : 07:10:12 AM I've also got this and have raised the issue with Jetbrains before spotting the issue on here too: R#
http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/RSRP-75139
Summary of my testing (also in the jira bug above):
If I don't have VA installed (but R#), the dialog does not appear on startup. If I don't have R# installed (but VA), the dialog does not appear on startup. If I revert R# to V3 but leave VA at current version, the dialog does not appear on startup. n.b. Both R# and VA are licensed.
R# Version: 4.0.819.16 VA Version 10.4.1640.0
Again with 10.4.1645.0 I get the problem.

Posted - Jul 16 2008 : 1:25:49 PM This has not been fixed in VA 1645. This thread should be updated when this is fixed.
This is down as a relatively urgent bug fix, but so far I do not have any estimate on when this will be fixed. |

Posted - Jul 16 2008 : 05:17:34 AM Just for reference, in case it was supposed to have been fixed, I'm still seeing this with 1645 (and the same RTM version of R# 4.0 as when I last posted into this thread.)
Maybe it's a R# problem and not a VA problem? |

Posted - Jun 18 2008 : 4:04:22 PM Our forum seemed to be having problems earlier today, unfortunately your post may have been caught up in those problems and lost. Apologies for that. |

Hmm, a commonality - I also have Resharper 4 installed. It did not happen with Resharper 4 Beta, but I think it started happening with final Resharper 4.
Also, it does not happen when I start IDE from Start Menu. But when I double click a .sln file it starts the IDE and loads the solution, then the dialog pops up.
BTW, I had a nicer reply but when I tried to post it, it said I had to login, and I lost my entire post! Perhaps you could fix that to retain the post that I had typed.
Thanks, David |

Posted - Jun 18 2008 : 11:01:28 AM How are you loading the IDE? Does loading the IDE via a different method make any difference?
I would not expect Resharper to be causing this problem, quite a few of our users use this. A quick web search reports that Visual SVN is the Subversion plugin for the IDE, so again I would expect this to be quite common.
Is this a new problem, or have you seen it in previous versions of the IDE? I am wondering if something has changed recently to trigger this problem. |

Posted - Jun 18 2008 : 06:02:36 AM I see this too. It happens in VS2005 and 2008:
I have Resharper 4.0 and Visual SVN installed, if that's relevant.

Posted - Jun 17 2008 : 6:13:07 PM This is very strange, and should not happen. Can you please go to:
VA Options -> System Info -> Copy Info
and paste the details (from the clipboard) into your reply. This will give us the basic information about your setup. |
