Sample data from the internet:

Scrolled all the way to the left:

Scrolled right by 1 click on the scrollbar arrow:

Workaround: add all non-code file extensions to the ignore list (txt, xml, flex, yak for me).

I am seeing the same effect here. Thank you for the clear description.

case=18252

For me this only happens if I have:

VA Options -> Advanced -> Fonts and Colors -> Stable symbols in Italic

turned on, so turning this off is another possible work around.

It's .xml but I see similar effects on all extensions/filetypes.

I just typed "sample XML" into Google to get http://www.alistapart.com/d/usingxml/xml_uses_a.html

What file extension is this?
Would it be possible to get a copy of this text so I can try this here? I don't really want to retype all of that XML
