Dear VA gurus,

Is there any way to define several Custom platforms?

I need custom include & lib paths for *several* platforms, besides of standard Win32/64.

One of these, for example, is the Windows Driver Kit (WDK).

Tried to tamper with platform definitions in the registry, but without success.

Regards,

I should add, this is not recommended - but if it works, it works.

You should be able to use a reg script to change the custom platform setting, however you will need to manually rebuild the symbol database after each change. That requires a restart of the IDE (and assumes that the custom platform is the current platform).

The Custom platform settings are located at (for vs2005):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Whole Tomato\\Visual Assist X\\VANet8\\Custom

Also, you should be able to modify the custom platform settings via reg script even while VA is running - but you need to open and then close the VA options dialog for the settings to take effect (again assuming that the platform is set to custom). Once the settings take effect, until the symbol database is rebuilt, the symbol database for the platform symbols will be stale. And as the new declarations are found platform symbols will appear to have multiple declarations.
