I'm running VS2008 on Vista, and I keep having crashing issues. It usually happens when I'm doing some kind of symbol search activity. All of the sudden I get a message that VS has stopped working and will need to reboot. I'm not sure exactly what is happening, but it is quite annoying. |

A minidump could be useful. It might show where the bug is, but it might only show the result of the bug.

It seems to happen when I do a "Find All References" and click on one of the references. I'm using 32-Bit Vista and VSTS 2008. The link you gave me applies to WS 2003 or XP, but nothing is said about Vista. Also, this works fine when VAssistX isn't installed.

When you say symbol search what do you mean? Are you using the IDE find dialog?
If you are using a 64bit OS you may be seeing this problem:
