I have a snippet assigned a shortcut of #u which works just fine in VS2003 and VS2005 but not under VS2008, it simply does not do anything, does not show up.

It almost sounds like the snippets had not been re-loaded correctly. However this does not explain why they were showing up in the menu.

Very strange. I am glad this is fixed, and hopefully the problem will not come back again.

yes, other snippets work. option is checked. Yes, occasionally running various instances of various versions of the IDE at the same time.

I just created another snippet with the same content but different shortcut, same effect. No go. Deleted snippet(s), quit IDE, restarted, re-created snippet, working now. Uhm. Not the slightest idea what the heck was happening with that. But I will keep an close eye on them.

Is that mean other snippets are working well under VS2008?
You have probably done this, but a wild guess just to be sure: do you have

VA Options -> Advanced -> Suggestions -> Include suggestions in listboxes

option checked under VS2008 as well?

Are you running more Visual Studios at the same time?

Changes are saved but I have seen them reset for no apparent reason once in a while.

VS2008, winXP, VA 1649, I have just tried changing the three options:

VA Options -> Advanced -> Fonts and Colors -> Apply Colouring to -> Object Browser
VA Options -> Advanced -> Fonts and Colors -> Apply Colouring to -> Views
VA Options -> Advanced -> Fonts and Colors -> Apply Colouring to -> Wizard Bar

changes to these three options are saved correctly when I close and reload the IDE. If you try these three, are the changes saved correctly?

Can you please go to:

VA Options -> System Info -> Copy Info

and paste the details (from the clipboard) into your reply. This will give us the basic information about your setup.

I am wondering if there is some form of permission or access rights problem here. The OS should offer some clues. Are you logged in as an administrator?

C#, .cs
It shows up under "VA Snippets with shortcuts" under all IDEs. Another thing I just noticed, VA does not save its settings under VS2008 here. Might be related? Guess no. btw, its a freshly installed machine.

Thats not right. Which language are you seeing this problem in, and which file extension?

I have setup three snippets, all with the shortcut #u which insert #undef, #undef C# and #undef VB for C++, VB and C#

All three of these are inserted correctly in .cpp, .cs and .vb files in VS2003, VS2005 and VS2008.

If you press the Insert VA Snippet toolbar button in VS2008 is this snippet in the list of snippets?
