Posted - Feb 02 2009 : 6:08:40 PM I'm using Visual Assist X version 10.5.1711 with Visual Studio 2005 on Windows Vista 64 bit ultimate edition. I had some software installation problems, so I did a rollback with Windows Recovery and a bunch more things (changed UAC settings, reinstalled some software, etc) to finally get my software working. Unfortunately, Visual Assist's enhanced syntax coloring does not work anymore in C++. It's still checked in the options, but it doesn't work in the text editor. If I apply it to the VA Navigation bar, it works fine there, but it doesn't apply to the text editor no matter what. Syntax coloring still works fine in Visual Studio 2008, but unfortunately I do most of my development in 2005.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Posted - Feb 02 2009 : 6:17:56 PM Very occasionally this happens after installing VA, it sounds like the same thing has happened to you.
First can you please backup / export your IDE and VA settings:
VA Options -> Performance -> Export Settings IDE tools menu -> Import and Export Settings -> Export selected environment settings
Then can you press the button:
IDE tools menu -> Options -> Environment -> Fonts and Colors -> Use Defaults
hopefully this will fix the problem. If it does can you please send me the settings files so I can try to reproduce the problem here? Please submit the files via the form:
