Is this not supported? It is grayed out in the VAssistX menu. And I couldn't get it to show up in the right-click menu.

I would think you could insert a snippet in just about any file.

I suspect because VA does not know a .config file is an XML file.

Personally I see no reason to expect it to be an XML file. I am used to seeing configuration files in all sorts of random "plain text" formats, all those years of using UNIX systems

Just curious, why is it using the Text snippets instead of XML snippets?

Is .config included in the list:

VA Options -> Projects -> Extensions -> Extensions to ignore

? If so then this will be why insert VA Snippets is disabled.

If you remove this extension from this list then VA will offer you Text snippets in .config files.
