Posted - Mar 26 2009 : 4:52:00 PM After upgrade to 1721, I notice now that the highlight matching braces feature is broken. I have a black text background and when it highlights the matching brace or parenthesis, it uses the color black instead of the color I chose. So they become invisible to me.
This is broken so I had to turn it off in this build. |

Posted - May 01 2009 : 8:50:32 PM We thought this was fixed in build 1722 but still had reports from other users about similar problems in build 1723. Maybe it is finally fixed in build 1724... |

Posted - Mar 26 2009 : 8:27:28 PM I should add that the reason this occurred is that in 1720, you can now control both foreground and background colors for the VA brace matching via the VS options dialog. |

I think the incorrect colors were used because the VS font cache was bad. We need to work around the VS cache problem somehow.
Do you operate VS under a different user account than the one that installed VA?

Posted - Mar 26 2009 : 6:07:38 PM Ahhh. that did the trick. Once those colors showed up in the dialog, I noticed that the brace match was both set to black. Changed the foreground to something more reasonable and now it's working. Is this a bug somewhere, though?
  thanks! |

Exit all instances of VS2005 Delete this registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \\ Software \\ Microsoft \\ VisualStudio \\ 8.0 \\ FontAndColors \\ Cache \ Now load the IDE, and this item should now be listed when you go into the IDE's options dialog.

Posted - Mar 26 2009 : 5:53:42 PM Well I can't find any option for "VA X Brace Matching" anywhere. But when I change the background color, the parens and braces are "highlighted" with black still |

If you are using VS2002 or above does changing the colour "VA X Brace Matching" in the IDE Options dialog make any difference? What about changing the background colour in the IDE options dialog? |
