Posted - May 07 2009 : 06:25:13 AM Hello, this is only MSVC 2k8 problem (works ok in MSVC 2k3).
When I find a string in all files (Ctrl+Shift+F), Find Results matches are not highlighted.
settings: - "Hightlight find results" is checked in VA X - I only changed "VA X Find Result" color from yellow to dark yellow (similar color as it's used in MSVC 2k3)
screenshot:
Thanks, Petr |

It's not really clear why exactly it worked before (in some cases) but suspect that it was a fluke invalidated by changes in the IDE. The other troubling thing is the inconsistent behavior: 1) sort of present in the output window but not at all in the Find Results windows 2) output window is using a different color than is used in the editor windows 3) appears to happen on some systems but not others

Posted - May 07 2009 : 5:28:28 PM just look at the last screenshot in this thread - won't you find search results faster when they're highlighted in the Find Results window? |

Posted - May 07 2009 : 5:26:39 PM sean, is it please possible to configure if a user wants highlighting in Output/Find Results windows? Highlighted results in those windows are well arranged - I can very easily localize found results on the line in Find Results window (try to use MSVC 2k3 and you'll get used to it ). Thanks. |

Posted - May 07 2009 : 4:23:31 PM Unfortunately, the bug is that it does anything at all in the Find Results window in 2003. case=26740 |

Posted - May 07 2009 : 1:10:07 PM Thanks for your reply. I thought this is about another problem - there's no highlight text inside Find Results window at all. Even if I click into Find Results window and search for the text inside this window (Ctrl+F).
This is how it works in older MSVC 2k3 (but no highlights in Find Results window in MSVC 2k8):
