Posted - May 07 2009 : 11:04:45 AM I've noticed that the horizontal scrollbar in code window disappears when debugging in VS2008 is stopped.
I use VA's navigation bar on the top of code window, and generic VS' one is disabled. So, when I run the program, debug windows (autos, watches etc.) become docked at the bottom, everything looks fine. When I stop the debug session, this windows become hidden. At this moment I see that the horizontal scrollbar disappears because code window is improperly resized by VA. After restoring/maximizing VS window everything is ok.
Sorry, if this is a known bug and it was descibed already. |

Posted - May 10 2009 : 1:11:43 PM Great :) So, didn't you recognize a setting which has lead to this 'feature'? |

Posted - May 10 2009 : 12:03:32 PM Wow. I was able to reproduce the problem with these settings, and I put in a bug report for this:

Posted - May 09 2009 : 10:36:03 AM It is not matter how do I stop the debugging. This is persistent behaviour, and it happens on both my computers - at home and at work. My exported settings are to huge to post to you directly here. I've packed them and put at www.point-company.narod.ru/settings.zip |

Posted - May 08 2009 : 3:15:55 PM I tried to same layout as yours, but everything is fine. When you stop your debug session, how do you do that? By exiting the program, or by pressing SHIFT+F5 or by clicking the blue square icon on the toolbar?
Can you please export your VA and IDE settings and send them to me:
VA Options -> Performance -> Export Settings IDE tools menu -> Import and Export Settings -> Export selected environment settings
So I can import the them here to try reproducing the problem. Your settings may be a factor. |

Posted - May 08 2009 : 03:33:52 AM Without VA code window is resized properly after debug is being stopped. I have no other IDE plugins installed. First, I thought that the StyleXP may have an influence on VS. But disabling StyleXP did not solve the problem. While stopped there are many docked (but auto-hidden) windows in the bottom of VS window (VA find references results, Output, Error list, Tasks, Find results, Breakpoints).
This is my IDE while debugging (StyleXP is disabled): www.point-company.narod.ru/1.png
After debug is stopped: www.point-company.narod.ru/2.png

Posted - May 07 2009 : 7:02:26 PM I wasn't able to reproduce your problem here.
Can you please try to disable Visual Assist by
VAssistX -> Enable/Disable Visual Assist X
to see if this happens if Visual Assist is disabled?
After you stop the program do you have docked Visual Studio window? If yes, where? Do you use autohide somewhere? Can you please take a screenshot of you desktop after and before you stop debugging? Do you know if there is anything "odd" on your system? Any other IDE plugin's? Programs that might be hooking into the IDE, for example something like Windowblinds or some other skinning program?
Can you please go to:
VA Options -> System Info -> Copy Info
and paste the details (from the clipboard) into this thread. This will give us the basic information about your setup. |
