Posted - Sep 01 2009 : 03:36:57 AM Hi, After we choose a word from the spelling list, it is not possible to select text in the editor using the mouse. We are using VC++2005, and build 1724. Thanks, Ron. |

Posted - Sep 01 2009 : 2:05:04 PM There are some changes to the Right click menu when clicking on spelling errors in VA 1731, so this might help to fix the problem.
It is interesting that this effects several machines, do they have anything in common that might be a factor? Some other IDE plugin? A program or utility that might hook into mouse events, or effect how menus are displayed? |

Posted - Sep 01 2009 : 1:39:24 PM I saw this problem in several computers in our company in the exact same way: 1. Have a spelling error in a comment 2. Right-click on the spelling error and choose a word from the menu of option. 3. Try and select a piece of the file's text using the mouse by dragging the text. You cannot select the code, as it is not highlighted. The only way to get back the text selection is by closing and reopening the file. Changing the file does not help. I will try 1731 later. |

Posted - Sep 01 2009 : 1:21:07 PM So far I cannot reproduce the problem.
Are these spelling errors in comments or in strings? Exactly how are you bringing up the spelling list?
If you change files does this fix selecting text with the mouse?
Can you try installing VA 1731 and see if this makes any difference:
