Hi,

I have been using VA X with VS 2003 for a couple of years. It is a great product.

Some time ago, my company decided to develop new projects under VS 2008. So now, I have VS 2003 as well as VS 2008 running on my machine, and I am using both development environments (often at the same time) for developing software.

Question: As currently I only have VA X installed in conjunction with VS 2003, I would like to know if it is possible to also add VA X to my VS 2008? I only have one user license, is it nevertheless possible to work with VA X under both VS 2003 __and__ VS 2008?

If so, please let me know how to do this. Installing VA X again does not do the trick, apparently.

Thanks in advance,
Thomas

You do need a newer version. VA 1619 was the first build to support VS2008 RTM.

You can simply renew your current VA licence via this page for $49

which will get you the latest version which does support VS2008, plus quite a few new features.

I have this running in VS 2003:

VA_X.dll file version 10.3.1544.0 built 2007.01.10
VA X: [email protected] (1-user license) Support ends 2007.03.13

I guess my version of VA X is too old. Makes sense.

And I guess I will have to buy an upgrade or a new license to make your latest version run, right?

You can use VA in as many IDE's as you want on the same machine with a single VA license. I have VA installed and running in VC6, VS2003, VS2005 and VS2008 on the same machine all at once.

Which version of VA are you using? You need a relatively recent version of VA for VS2008 support. Basically any version of VA from before VS2008 was released will not support this IDE.

If you download and install our latest version does it show up correctly in VS2008?
