I like the idea, but why chose Ctrl-Click? SourceLinks taught us to double-click to "go to", and doesn't allow an alternative as far as I know. Why do it differently here?

true - but confusingly, ctrl+click also does highlight word

Doesn't double-click mean highlight word (triple-click highlight paragraph)?

The trigger action is inconsistent with the SourceLinks trigger, but the goto enhancement was implemented due to numerous requests from users that used the same functionality and trigger in other IDEs and IDE extensions (ie, there was a more general/common precedent for ctrl+click than double-click).
