Posted - Dec 14 2009 : 3:24:11 PM Is it possible to point VA Snippets to an external location (network directory). I'd like to get multiple users pointing to the same place to be used like a common code snippet repository for all of us.
Is this possible?

Posted - Dec 15 2009 : 4:07:23 PM Thanks...I've been looking in to this all morning, and it seems that won't work. Junction points (symbolic links for directories) are only supported locally only (e.g. can't link to a network shared directory). :(
Oh well....thanks any way.

There is no built in feature of VA to do this yet, but we are considering having 2 VA Snippet files, a global and a local one, and then merge them together in memory:
case=1008
For now you should be able to setup shared snippets by just replacing the local VA Snippet folder with a symbolic link or junction point, so the OS silently redirects VA to this shared location. Exactly how you do this will depend on the OS you are using.
