Will the Build 1810 release for VS 2010 work on the same machine as the VS2003/2008 release is already installed?

Yes. More specifically there are to installers for 1810. The .exe installer is for VC6 to VS2008. The .vsix installer is for VS2010 Beta 2 only.
The two are separate, so you can install either one or both, so you can have a different version of VA in VS2010 Beta 2 if you really want  |
