After using VA during a few hours, I remark that the time this dialogs opens: "Open file in solution", at least triples. Quitting VS and relaunching solves this small problem. This is a big project.
Memory leak maybe?

Does checking "Show only files in the current solution" in the Open File dialog make any difference?

Have the same problem and no the "Window | Windows..." (VS2008) item doesn't show the same problem.

On the main menu bar in the IDE, File menu, Edit menu, Window menu... The "IDE Window | Windows" command opens an IDE dialog, it is nothing to do with Visual Assist X.

I don't see what command you mean...

Also, simply checking the checkbox without restarting the IDE, should show a marked improvement. That is, leave it unchecked until you start to notice the slowdown. Then check it and see if performance improves without restarting VS.

When the checkbox is unchecked, VA queries the IDE for the list of running documents. It looks like the bottleneck is in the IDE and is responsible for the performance degradation over time (since the VA dialog is completely built and destroyed at each invocation of the command). case=19139

When you next notice this degradation, can you please check the IDE Window | Windows command to see if it shows a similar slowdown?

Yes. Known issue?

It sounds like you might have "Show only files in the current solution" unchecked. Is that the case?
