Posted - Apr 26 2010 : 10:30:55 PM VS2008 and VS2010 are installed in my PC, then I install 10.6.1822 in my PC, then I can use it VS2008, but I can not find it anywhere in VS2010. How to add it to VS2010 when VS2008 also is intalled? |

There are two different installers for VA 1822:
VA_X_Setup1822.exe - this does NOT install VA for VS2010 VA_X_Setup1822.vsix - this ONLY installs VA for VS2010
which installer have you run?
Oh, I run VA_X_Setup1822.exe. I run VA_X_Setup1822.vsix, then that's OK. Thanks for your patient. |

Posted - Apr 28 2010 : 10:25:58 AM Telling us that you install Visual Assist X 10.6.1822 is not detailed enough. Please state what file you are running to install 10.6.1822. |

Can you elaborate on step 3? You are running the two different installers?
Actually I have installed Visual Assist X 10.5.1738 after installed VS2008. Steps: 1. I install VS2008 in my OS. 1.1. I install Visual Assist X 10.5.1738 2. I install VS2010 in my OS too. 3. I install Visual Assist X 10.6.1822 to overwrite 10.5.1738.

There definitely is a misunderstanding here.
"Extension Manager" does not exist in VS2008. The "Extension Manager" is a new dialog introduced in VS2010. The Extension Manager dialog in VS2010 is at "Tools | Extension Manager."
Both VS2008 and VS2010 also have "Add-in Manager." Visual Assist is listed in the VS2008 "Add-in Manager" but not in the VS2010 "Add-in Manager" (also, the "Add-in Manager" is not at "Tools | Options | Environment |..." but rather at "Tools | Addin Manager").
OK, Man, let me clear my issue: 1. I install VS2008 in my OS. 2. I install VS2010 in my OS too. 3. I install Visual Assist X 10.6.1822 4. Run VS2008, there is VAssistX on the menu of VS2008, and I can find it in "Tool->Add-in Manager". 5. Run VS2010, there is not VAssistX on the menu of VS2010, and also I can not find it in "Tools-> Extension Manager" or "Tool->Add-in Manager".
Then my question is that: 1. Why does VAssistX is not loaded by VS2010? 2. How can I load VAssistX in VS2010 manually? |

You will need to run the vsix installer. More information is available here: http://forum.wholetomato.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9503
We are working on a unified install but it is not ready yet.
Maybe you misunderstand me, I already run vsix installer, and I can not find it in "Tools | Options | Environment | Extension Manager" under VS2010, but VS2008 does. VS2008 and VS2010 all are installed in my OS. |
