Posted - Aug 28 2010 : 06:26:41 AM When I press Alt-G on a symbol to navigate to its position, I get a popup context menu asking me to resolve the ambiguity. Some of the entries in this popup refer to files that no longer exist on my computer. So this information is obviously stale. How do I reset this? I've deleted my SDF file, ipch directory, and clicked the 'Clear' button the VSX Performance tab. How do I get rid of this?

Posted - Oct 08 2010 : 3:43:40 PM rogojin after pressing the Rebuild button and restarting VS2010 you should see messages "flash" by on the IDE status bar about VA reparsing your stable include directories, any library code, and your solution. This should only take a minute or so, depending on the speed of your system.
If this is not happening, and if this is not cleaning you VA symbol database, then something unexpected is happening. |

Posted - Oct 08 2010 : 06:08:16 AM rhummer - I'm afraid your statement is simply not true. I clicked the "Rebuild button", but the contents of my data dir: C:\\Users\\ben\\AppData\\Local\\Microsoft\\VisualStudio\\10.0\\Extensions\\Whole Tomato Software\\Visual Assist X\\10.6.1830.0\\Data
...remains intact. |

Posted - Aug 28 2010 : 06:29:57 AM Right. I found it: C:\\Users\\ben\\AppData\\Local\\Microsoft\\VisualStudio\\10.0\\Extensions\\Whole Tomato Software\\Visual Assist X\\10.6.1827.0\\Data.
You guys should provide a button on the UI to clear this too. |
