Posted - May 05 2011 : 11:44:34 AM I like using snippets and have a fair amount. The names showing in the left pane tree view are often short, in no apparent order, and are a mixture of snippets from Whole Tomato and my custom snippets.
I would like a suggestion or enhancement so that I can locate my snippets faster to make changes. (What about sorting by name and grouping by custom/not custom?)

When I reorder items in the tree, is the template file updated to reflect the new order? |

Posted - May 05 2011 : 3:27:35 PM We are considering adding a search / filter feature to the Snippets dialog, to help you find the snippets you want:
case=606
If you know what the snippet you want is called, you can just type its name with focus in the tree control, and focus should jump to the next item below the selected item with this name.
Are you aware that you can re-order the items in the tree by using the mouse to drag and drop them? The order of the snippets in the tree is used to determine the order in which they appear in listboxes. So if you have three snippets with the shortcut "if" they will appear in the order they are in the tree, so you can control which one is the top one in the listbox. Because of this we don't want to automatically sort the list, since this could re-order the items and cause confusion. |
