I use the symbol context snippets for documentation snippets. The snippet $BaseClassName$ works quite good inside a class context but does not work outside the class context.

<using snippet with $BaseClassName$ does not work here>
class CFoo : public CBar
{...
<using snippet with $BaseClassName$ works here>

Ok, there is no class context if I am outside the class, but maybe you can provide a "Document Class" feature similar to the "Document Method" and the $BaseClassName$ works there.

We are looking to extend Document Method so that it can be used on a class:

case=4932

I have put a note onto this case about being able to use $BaseClassName$ in this situation.

For now you could always trigger the snippet inside the class, and then cut and paste the comment block to above the class. Not ideal, and you might already be doing this, but it should help a bit.
