In order to impliment coding standards across large teams, it would be nice to have the following features:

- AutoText definition files in XML format. In general this would make it easier to work with autotext files through custom tools. Also, it would allow easy version control though a code repository such as Perforce or Visual Source Safe.

- Multiple AutoText files. This would make it easier to have a team coding standards file, and also an individual file for each user.

- Relocatable AutoText files. It would be nice to be able to place the AutoText file in a definable location so that it can be included in source code repositories without too much work.

is there a problem with putting the current autotext files into a source control system? i often open mine in a normal text editor, or a diff program, and never have any problems. the separator characters are simply seen and handled.

multiple autotext files is already being considered

case=1008

and so is storing the files in a different directory

case=169
