Hi everyone,

thank you for this fantastic software.

My suggestion for the product is this:

If i rename a symbol in source code with c# and visual studio, there is an automatic link to the context menu for renaming this symbol.
Are you able to do this for C++ with Visual Assist X?

Thank you

Sven

Yes, until VA has reparsed the file, which it does when you pause typing, it does not know about the changes.

I am using VS2005 and VA 1548.
I found out to wait for the short message in status bar about reparsing.

Thank you,

Sven

There can be a slight delay, since VA needs to decide that you have finished typing, but you should not have to save the file. The screen shot was produced without saving the file.

Which IDE and version of VA are you using?

Thank you,

this is very useful for me.
The only problem is that it takes some time till refactoring is available after rename.
I have to save the file and then it works.

using VS2005 and VA 1548, C++, I have just renamed a function and then opened the VA refactoring context menu, which is offering me:

This is not in the IDE's context menu, since we do not try to modify this. But you can bind a keyboard shortcut to the command "VAssistX.RefactorContextMenu" to open this menu without having to use the mouse.
