Problem:
When updating to the latest version of VA, I get the dreaded "your snippets or ours?" question. Without exaggeration, is the only thing that makes me hesitate to upgrade. It's not really a big problem, but it insanely annoying.

What I really want is keep my changes and additions, and get your additions/changes.

Suggestion:
Store the default snippets (created / delivered by you) in a separate file from the user snippets. This way, you can update "your" snippets without asking, and keep the user snippets unmodified.

In case of collisions, user snippet file takes precedence.

Snippet Editor shows all snippets (once), but any modifications go to the user file. For modified snippets, offer "revert to default".

What do you think?

Incidentally, in a similar scenario this solution has worked out quite well for us.

I'd vote for this feature, too.

We are considering doing something like this at some point:

case=1008
