Sounds picky, but letter kerning in the selected and unselected lines in the Alt+M list is different. Points to some error in the painting code.



Ok, check the distance between T+y (in .Type) and V+e (int .Version) in the two images, the selected line has less space between the letters than the unselected version.
You can repro that by simply hovering the mouse over entries in the Al+M list, they change kerning.

Seeing the same thing here, now I know exactly what to look for. Thank you for the clear description. We thought we had caught most of the kerning changes in Windows 10, but looks like this one slipped through our fingers:
