As VAX is now asking for the license in VS.NET, I found the following behaviour: When you launch VS.NET then VAX comes up with the try-or-buy dialog. But when you launch VS.NET by double clicking on an associated file, it will come up twice with this dialog. Once right after VS was started and a second time after it loaded the file.
