Please tell us something more, which VA X build and which IDE you are using, system specs might be also useful.

I agree. VAX is WAY slower than VA.
It has come to the point for me that I'm considering turning off some features.
Currently, I sometimes turn off VAX (the 'underline errors' features kills performance BIG time)

Can you enable logging on the Performance tab of the VA options dialog then reproduce the slowness and exit the IDE. This will create a file c:\\va.log. Please zip and email to [email protected].

Thanks,

Hi

same remark than eco: VA X is slower than VA.Net
(VA_X.dll file version 10.0.1216.0
Licensed to: Trial License
VA4 License: Trial License
VAOpsWin.dll version 1.0.0.33
DevEnv.exe version 7.10.3077.0
msenv.dll version 7.10.3077.0
Font: Courier New 13(Pixels)
Comctl32.dll version 5.81.4916.400
WindowsNT 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 4
Single processor)

a simple case:
i enter some text on a blank line and immediately after i push
the up key. The cursor take some ms to respond

It was the same trouble after all line exiting.
VA X take too much time to respond

Another annoying thinks was the impossibility to change the colour
of the tooltip/list boxes for people with dark background
My variable are displayed with the color ffffd9 and in the listbox with white background I see nothing.

There might be a considerable memory leak here too. I have not look deeply into this issue but one thing is clear if you don't close your VS.NET IDE for several days the performance gets slower and slower over time.

nithril: We think your performance problem has been fixed in build 1218.

The next time you get a performance slowdown, enable logging on the Performance tab of the VA options dialog and reproduce the problem. Then, close the ide and it will create a file c:\\va.log, please zip and send this to [email protected].

Thanks,
