Using Visual Studio 2003 on Windows XP. Visual Assist .NET 7.1 and AXTools CodeSMART co-exist fine - but when I install the latest X Beta, CodeSMART gets the following error:
Feb-11 1:59:28 pm Exception caught by the generic procedure handler in: AxTools.CodeSMART.Connector.KeyboardHook.KeyboardHook.oKeyboardEvents_KeyDownEx (System.Int16, System.Int16) DETAILS: Exception type: [System.NullReferenceException] Object reference not set to an instance of an object. STACK TRACE: at AxTools.CodeSMART.Connector.KeyboardHook.EnvKeyboardEvents.OnKeyDown(Int16 KeyCode, Int16 Shift) at AxTools.CodeSMART.Connector.KeyboardHook.KeyboardHook.oKeyboardEvents_KeyDownEx(Int16 KeyCode, Int16 Shift) AxTools.CodeSMART.Connector.dll file version: 1.9.0.0
Removing Visual Assist X and reinstalling 7.1 and all works well. |

Same problem on my machine, which is too bad---I can't do without CodeSMART, and I'm evaluating VA X and would certainly purchase it upon release, but only if the two programs can coincide with each other relatively peacefully. I REALLY wish I could find just one IDE enhancement tool that did everything I wanted...or maybe just an IDE that didn't need enhancement tools to be decent. |

Problem still persists with 1223 - I really do want to use Visual Assist X but I've grown used to using the CodeSMART Features as well as VA.NET 7.1 - which both work together well... Any chance this can be fixed????

We can reproduce the problem and will work on a fix. The problem appears related to VSIP integration -- and the fact multiple add-ins use it.
Workaround is to uninstall all add-ins. Install VA X. Re-install other add-ins. After this, IDE starts fine 4 of 5 times.

Better support for other add-ins in build 1234.
Fixes include workarounds for how other add-ins use VSIP, and basic flaws in VSIP itself. |
