Hi,

I've got problems with VAX incorrectly coloring some symbols (specifically ones containing numeric digits) within parentheses.

I have a typedef like this:

typedef unsigned short s16;

I have VAX configured to highlight matching braces/parentheses in orange, and mismatching ones in red.

I type "(s16)", and the coloring behaviour changes as I type it..

When I type the characters prior to the closing parenthesis - "(s16" - everything is working fine. But at the time I enter the closing parenthesis the coloring changes. The opening parenthesis goes white and bold, the 's' appears in the colour defined by VAX's 'Variables' colour setting. The '16' appears in black (which I don't have set anywhere), and the closing parenthesis is white and bold too.

There are then a number of different scenarios, depending on what you do.

1. If I change window focus at this time, it corrects itself.
2. If I add a semicolon at the end of the line, it corrects itself.
3. If I use the VS.NET splitter window tool and drag it down as far as it can go, then - without releasing the left mouse button - drag it back up again (ie: no split windows at the end of the procedure), the colouring issue mentioned above occurs in other places on screen whwere I have symbols that have numbers at the end of them (eg: dean1234, s16, test12345 etc). Some of these are so badly drawn that the numeric portion is half black and half variable colour (split vertically though, pointing to a drawing/refresh problem). Again, if I change window focus the redraw causes things to correct themselves.

If I disable VAX, all these issues go away.

I'm sorry if this isn't a particularly coherent report.. let me know if there's anything that's so garbled it could do with further explanation.

Cheers,
Dean

No fix in 1218.. and no followup asking for more information?

Fair enough.
